Infrared Sauna FAQ

Infrared sauna questions, answered

Infrared therapy involves the use of infrared light to penetrate the body's tissues, providing the warmth you get from the sun without the harmful effects. It goes 1-2 inches into your body. If you love the feeling you get from the sun, you're going to love infrared heat.

Sweating has infinite benefits. Some of these include ridding your body of toxins, increased metabolism and energy, brighter skin, and deeper sleep. However, the benefits of sweating go beyond physical. It is one of the best ways to relax and de-stress, giving you mental benefits as well.

Long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, cotton or a cotton blend, and socks, something that can get sweaty. If you don't want to get your own clothing sweaty, we provide clothing that you can borrow. Please remove all jewelry and accessories.

We do recommend eating something light at least two hours prior to your session. However, don't go overboard. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! It is important to be sufficiently hydrated prior to your sweat session. We will not accept patients that appear to be intoxicated, as it is unsafe to sweat while under the influence of alcohol.

Yes, we have a shower provided; however, we recommend waiting for at least two hours. Here's why: your body will continue to detoxify for hours after your visit until it returns to normal temperature. Showering (even in the hottest water) will bring your body back to normal temperature, which halts the process and cheats you of the continued benefits.

Infrared treatments are safe and can be done every day. We allow blanket therapy once a day, and sauna sessions are a maximum of 50 minutes in a day.

Clients must be 18 years or older to use our infrared sauna services.

Sweating is 100% natural and healthy, and there are no known risks associated with infrared heat. It is actually used in modern-day medicine in cases such as newborn-baby incubation and treatments for first responders after heavy chemical exposure.

Individuals with chronic conditions that make them extremely sensitive to temperature, those who have recently undergone surgery, individuals with hemophilia, pregnant women, and those taking blood thinners should consult with their physician before using infrared saunas. We strive to provide the most comfortable experience possible. If you have any concerns that weren't addressed in these FAQs, please reach out to a staff member, and please consult with your physician if you have any doubts whatsoever.

There are no known harmful effects to sweating with implants.

Clients typically do not show a claustrophobic reaction to infrared blankets, as your head still remains outside the blanket at all times, and the blanket can easily be opened. We also have TVs to help preoccupy your mind. If you feel the need to discontinue your session, you can easily remove yourself from the blanket or use the call button to alert a staff member. If you would prefer not to use the infrared blankets, we also have the option of the infrared sauna, which gives you the same benefits.

Yes. Because infrared helps increase blood circulation, some clients find it eases cramps, though that same increased circulation can also increase your menstrual flow. Do what feels comfortable for your body, and reach out to our team with any questions.
